Dr Brenna Halverson has joined the STEMMS group to model how crystal shape changes through impingement and intergrowth of crystals during extensive mush solidification. Crystal shape can change during solidification of a mush: the question is, by how much? These novel numerical modelling experiments will enable us to answer this question.
